Ready or Not

Funny how things you read or see co-inside with things that is going on in your life at the current time.
I was reading Matthew 26:39-45
No matter what the pain, we must obey the mission God has given us. Jesus had lived his life in perfect obedience to his Father's will; in these verses he chose the Father's plan over his own desire. Yes, his own desire, I am sure that being fully human Jesus facing his death was the same as what we would feel if we were diagnosed with a terminal illness and was told we would die in 3 days. His human ability to submit to the will of the Father in obedience is an example for us to follow. I read in a commentary that “Living for God does not always mean that we feel we are prepared to face what God calls us to face; BUT.. it does mean that we choose to face it anyway. Thus when the test arrives, Jesus summons all his disciples to rise to face it--ready or not (26:45)”
I know that If he calls us to face it he will also prepare us for what is to come. We have chosen to rise and face whatever God has in store for us and over the next 12 months we will be praying for him to prepare us whether we think we are ready or not.

We took a flight from RDU to New Orleans, LA for a meeting which helped us to understand God’s will for our future.
We met the most wonderful loving couple, their names; Jean and David Ohlerking…
Founders of Children’s Cup International.

After spending 3 days of talking their “ears off” and eating a great deal of delicious food ( for which I now have to spend 3 months of dieting to loose) and meeting all their Children and Grandchildren, we have found two truly great friends who are now a part of our Journey.

There is still the paperwork to complete and the budget to create and rounding up support for one year, a lot of material items to get rid of…but….. I rely greatly on this passage:
Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
We know this cannot be done of ourselves but only through God.

The Plan: To be in Swaziland Africa around January 2009. A year seems like a very long time but it will go bye quickly and there is so much to do.

It is amazing to us what has transpired over the last 4 months, we know God has his hand in this. We close on the sale of our house and land January 3rd 2007 (little scary) No, we will not be homeless for the next year, the buyer has agreed for us to stay in our home month by month without any ties until we leave for Africa.. and get this -- At half of our mortgage payment. (What a blessing given by God).
Until the next entry:
We ask for your prayers for us and our family as we pursue what God has in store for us.
